The ASID Foundation is proud to continue its strong support of the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) with a new grant for CIDA's Collaborative Strategies session. The fall 2010 session will bring together interior design and related disciplines to identify factors influencing collaboration in practice and how future practitioners might commonly be required to address these. CIDA will use this information toward the continued development of professional standards for interior design education. Results of the session also will be made available for the benefit of the professional community as a whole.

Council for Interior Design Accreditation
The ASID Foundation is partnering with the Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC), the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS), and twenty-eight states to develop the Pre-Professional Certification for Interior Design Fundamentals for high school students. The certificate of achievement will be awarded to those students who complete interior design courses and pass a national exam prior to completing their secondary education. The purpose of this exam and certificate will be to educate our high school interior design students more accurately about the interior design profession.
