ASID Foundation Why Statement

The ASID Foundation advances the profession and communicates the ability of interior design to enhance the human experience through research, scholarships, and education.

Through 1+, ASID and the ASID Foundation salute the Society’s members who contribute over $10 million in design services annually to vulnerable communities. Learn more and read the latest case study featuring the work of Kia Weatherspoon, Allied ASID and Determined by Design.

Believing that interior design improves the human condition, the ASID Foundation supports research and education that articulates and expands a baseline of knowledge about how interior design impacts behavior. Read about recent research grant recipients on the ASID ICON blog.

In May 2016, the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) moved into their new corporate headquarters in downtown Washington, D.C.  The new 8,500 square foot ASID headquarters has many innovative features that will improve the health and wellness of the employees.

To help build the future of workplaces, the Society’s office will operate as a living laboratory. Staff members will participate in a pre- and post-occupancy research study in partnership with Cornell University and funded by the ASID Foundation. Learn more.

Daltile, in partnership with the ASID Foundation, is excited to announce Kristina Tribell as the winner of the fifth annual Daltile Interior Design Scholarship. During NeoCon East 2016 in Philadelphia, Tribell was presented with a $10,000 scholarship to continue her education in the field of interior design. Learn More.
