With so many financial obligations to meet, is it possible to make a charitable donation, while still providing for yourself and loved ones?

Many ASID donors have found that through proper planning they are able to make more significant gifts than they thought possible.

These donors, while providing for their own interests are also helping the ASID Foundation.

The ASID Foundation would like to create a partnership with you that will be mutually rewarding to you and the Foundation.

There are a number of ways to make a gift to the Foundation as part of your estate plan.

    1. Specific bequests:  The ASID Foundation receives a specific dollar amount or specified assets.
    2. Residuary bequests:  The ASID Foundation receives all or a percentage of the remainder of your estate after debts, taxes, expenses and specific bequests have been paid.
    3. Contingent bequests:  The ASID Foundation receives property only under certain circumstances, for example, if other beneficiaries pre-decease you.
    4. Testamentary trust remainder:  The ASID Foundation receives the assets remaining in a trust created under your will at the death of another beneficiary.

When making a bequest to the Foundation please consider language such as the following:  "I give and bequeath to the American Society of Interior Designers Foundation, Inc. [specify a dollar amount or a percentage of your estate] to be used as the Board of Trustees of the Foundation direct [or for the purposes specified by you]."

Bequests may be restricted or unrestricted, so long as they are in keeping with ASID Foundation policies.

    1. Make a direct gift by giving the cash value or proceeds of a policy no longer needed for family protection.
    2. Transfer a paid-up policy with the ASID Foundation named as owner and as beneficiary.
    3. Name the ASID Foundation as beneficiary.

THE LEGACY SOCIETY
The Legacy Society honors those individuals who have thoughtfully provided planned gifts for the future of the ASID Foundation through any of the above means.  In recognition of your charitable planning, you will be invited to become a member, which entitles you to special benefits.

(The ASID Foundation does not offer legal or tax advice and encourages you to consult your own legal and financial advisors for structuring a gift plan which achieves your giving intentions and meets your particular financial circumstances.)
