About ASID

Student Legislative Award

Your future as a professional interior designer depends on protecting your right to practice. You must take an active role in safeguarding the interior design profession.

Political involvement is a major component of promoting and protecting the interior design profession, and ensuring that interior designers are allowed to practice within the full scope of their abilities.

The Society will annually reward one ASID student member who shows excellence in leadership and initiative in his or her state’s legislative endeavors to protect designers’ right to practice.

We are now accepting applications for the 3rd annual Student Legislative Award!

TO ENTER:
Tell ASID how you have contributed to your state’s legislative efforts.

• Submit an essay (no more than 1,000 words) describing your leadership skills and political involvement in your student chapter. Also, include why you think interior design legislation is important to you and to your profession.

• Submit one letter of recommendation from an ASID practitioner member.

JUDGING:
All essays will be reviewed by members of the ASID Legislative and Codes Advisory Council and will be judged on content.

AWARD:
• $1,000 scholarship toward your interior design education
• Spotlight in ASID ICON, ACCESS and ASID Legislative Outlook
